no because what I'm seeing right now is not a political propaganda
but a study of facts. But The only western propaganda that I can
see is the Propaganda of superiority.
For example, in
Africa or Asia, The western Countries will use CNN, BBC and other
media to tarnish the image of some groups of people that is more than 20 million
as a tribe or an ethnic groups in Africa or Asia. I call it a political propaganda because their motives is just to tarnish the image of African people in the international communities because
if a group of people that is more than 20 million is regarded as an ethnic or tribe then why calling Some countries in Europe that is not up to 10 million a Nation states or a country. Without being told, one will found out that the westerners are playing a game of superiority with Africa, Middle east and Asia.
I
remembered one day when one of my political Geography teacher from The United states of America. Was telling us the difference between the
third world countries and the western Countries. And I asked him,
do you think that the world is being ruled by propaganda because
sometimes the way things were said happened to be false. But he said
to me yes that the world is partially ruled by propagandas and there are
some propaganda that is a propaganda of facts.
Then I said to him, do
you think it is fair/unfair to call Africa and Asia the third world
Countries? He said well if someone told you something and have some
evidence to back up his claims, that means it is not a propaganda.
To me, the way things is being done in these countries, one need not
to be told that these countries are really third world and majority of them are uncivilised people.
I became so angry with that because I didn't
understand fully why Africa should be classified as third world.
Until when I began to compare the difference between western world
and the third world. But the more I get to know more the more I get
more angry about these continent which supposed to be like others but
ignorantly made them selves to be a mockery in the eyes of the
international communities.
As l asked one of my professor that why
is it that the more I study, the more I'm more aggressive about my the way things are? He said to me that
that made me to be educated because education is not only your
ability to speak good english but your ability to write, read and
understand things you are reading and make a good analyses of it. Both in the short and long run which will be acceptable by the majorities of others.
And I have been to more than 30 countries all over the continents but
the moment you are entering Africa, one need not to be told that you are
entering into a third world continents. And this will tell you that the
name the western world gave to Africa is not by a mistake. But because it is how things are in these countries.
For
Example, as I took a Lufthansa flight from Germany to Africa Nigeria.
At the Frankfurt airport, I did not pay for trolley to carry my backs. Same to the other western countries that I have been to because the airport tax you are paying covers all and one has never been asked to pay
for trolley to carry his or her bags in the western Countries.
But as soon as you get to Lagos airport, one will find
out that you are in a third world country. First thing you will see
when the flight is landing is an old Un-renovated airport. Secondly
is at the immigration point, where you will see an old counter with no security to guard the immigration officers from any kind of attack.
Then you will see some fat
stomach men and women looking for tips from you. Then come another
set of criminals operating in the name of renting a trolley and you
will be asked to pay 150 Naira to hire a trolley to be able to carry your bags which is free in
every airport worldwide. Then entering the town, what you will see is what Makinder
called a “shattered zone” in his book "The Revenge of
Geography" The kind of Taxi that comes your way, one need
not to be told that the people are suffering.
Then bad road, pollutions and noise from all corners of the city. No electricity, no
good drinking water for the masses. 50% or more of their citizens are
illiterates and are living in poverty, public schools are like a jungle. If you are not rich
your kids will not get a good education while in the western world, schools
are free both secondary and universities.
Yet the number of crude oil
that is being lifted every day runs into millions of dollars and
media are reporting millions of dollars as an international aid to
the same continent that is well enriched with natural resources. This
is the reason why they were called third world country because they
are like a shattered zone.
They lack the basic things human beings
needs in life. They couldn't make use of what God has given to them
due to corruptions and mismanagement. Yet they are not ashamed to call themselves the giant of Africa. Then I ask myself, what makes them to be giant of Africa if they lack the basic of things that her mass needs.
Corruptions, selfish interest has
eaten deep into their systems. In this continents, their politicians
only think about the next election while in the western countries,
their politicians think about the next generation. But sometimes the
masses are the cause of this problem because they refused to fight
for their destiny by allowing a few people to tour with their
destinies.
We want good things in life but we don't want to work
towards it. Everybody want to live in the USA or Europe without
knowing that the European had series of revolutions and without a
revolution the politicians will continues to use people.
For example, during the election Some people will be collecting little money from
the one they know that he or she is selfish and corrupt and voted
for them without knowing that in short run, you will have food on your table but in
long run you will be hungry. Do you think that the money the
politicians gave you during the election that they will not want to recovered it after the election? Listen for your information, they will loot because you have gotten your own share
when they bought your vote.
I think our Forefathers have failed us by not protecting our
futures and if we continues like this, it will go from generations to generations. We need to reclaim our lost glory like China and other Asia are reclaiming their lost glory and fight corruption.
