The way forward for Nigeria.

The only way for Nigeria to develop and meet it's target is until we face the realities of our problems. And what is our main problem? First is to recognize that we are not one.

As the scholar says that “a Nation is an association of those who are brought together by language, by given geographical condition or by the vole assigned them by history, who acknowledge the same principles and who march together to the conquest of a single definite goal under the rule of a uniform body of law” the western world understood this statement and applied it to their systems of government to avoid ethnic conflicts and political instabilities.

While the classified 3rd world Countries refused to accept this words of wisdom, that is why they are all still battling for  political instabilities after the decolonization. For example, The United state of America understood this and adopted the confederation system, in order to avoid another political or civil instabilities. because what happened during 1861-1865 civil war thought America a lesson. but the Nigeria civil war did not teach us any thing.

Most of the western Countries, when they found out that they are not one people, they will divide and each people will stay on their own to avoid conflicts that will cost the lose of lives and properties. For example Czechoslovakia when they found out that staying together will bring more problem , national conference was called to discourse the future  of the two states, and when they found out that they were not one, they decided to divide into two Countries Slovakia and Czech republic.

This happened to many European and American Countries, but in Africa it is a different ball game, because we are forcing ourselves to be one or united while we are not. We need to understand that we have different cultures, Languages and ethnicity. Even if we want to be one by force then why not we do it they way American, and some other part of the world did. Which is confederation system of government, and that is the only solution to African's problem.

For example Nigeria, a country that was merged together in 1914 by the British government because of their exploitatives ambition, and since then the Country have never find peace. Always in a political instabilities and conflicts between one region and the other, because they do not want to understand the fact that they are not one Country.

These are 3 Countries that were merged together by British government, which were made up of the Igbo's from the East, the Hausa's from the North and the Yoruba's from the South west. Rather than killing ourselves trying to be one, why not divide or  if we should be one then let us do it as other people did, which is confederation.

If dividing the Country is not an option then let us stage a National Conference and talk about our problems. Whether we are to be one or to divide. And if we decided to stay as one country then we must sign a treaty. Reach an agreement so that every state will manage what they have. This idea of one state producing and the other people spending while the producers are being marginalize has to stop if we really want peace in the Country.

Now is the uprising of an Islamic sect called Boko Haram. With their full force of bombing and killing innocent people, all in the name of disagreement of the last elections, where by their choice of person lost out in the last general election, and now they want an Islamic state with full sharia law all over the Northern states. Fine if that is the case then, that is the reason why we need a National Conference to decide if we need a Secession or not.

And if we decided to be one then there are the need for a Confederation system of government. Because each state will have full authority over their state and do what they want in their state, and anybody who is not in support of their Law should leave the state. Or the need for the Country to divide let everybody stay in their Land and practice whatever he/she wish to practice. If not there will be more bloodshed and the innocent people are always the victims of this bloodshed, and the main people that this sect targeted never get caught because they are always with heavy security

Where western donations end up.

The AIDS fund scam

By Sun News PublishingThursday, July 07, 2011

"The recent discovery of N74 billion ($474.5 million) fraud in grants processes involving some notable Nigerian organizations by the Global Fund on AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria is mind-boggling. The untoward behavior of these highbrow organizations that has cast a slur on the country in international circles is condemnable. As a result of the financial malfeasance involving 15 grants which occurred over a period of six years from 2003 to 2009, the Global Fund, an international financing institution committed to funding of health projects around the world, has threatened to withdraw its funding to organizations in Nigeria.

According to reports, the audit showed that one of the organizations illegally transferred funds amounting to $15.5 million outside the country, incurred extra budgetary expenditure of $5.2 million, un-retired expenditure of $1.2 million and unaccounted management fee of $659,000. Another incurred extra-budgetary expenditure of $71,000 in addition to $679,000 administrative charges not accounted for and $68,000 UN-retired expenditure.

Yet another had $711,000 un-retired staff advances and $10,000 un-refunded balance of rent grant. One of them was unable to account for $335,000 administrative charges as well as un-retired expenditure of $168,000. One illegally transferred foreign currency amounting to $11.6 million to a non-program related account abroad. But this amount was later refunded in local currency. The report also accused another of over-charging on distribution of products to the tune of $256,000 and $77,000 unexpended amount on training.

We strongly condemn the unwholesome attitude of these organizations that has further soiled the country’s reputation. Their insensitivity to the plight of millions of Nigerians suffering from the health conditions the funds are meant to address is callous. This unbecoming action does not portray the country in good light. It is a confirmation of allegations by AIDS patients that donor funds are being diverted to unauthorized uses by some organizations.

Now that the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offenses Commission (ICPC) has waded into the matter, let it diligently prosecute all those involved. Those found culpable should be punished according to the laws of the land and made to refund all misappropriated funds. This matter should not be swept under the carpet like others before it.

It is embarrassing that some privileged Nigerians are ripping off AIDS patients through grants meant to ameliorate their condition. Let government show greater interest in auditing of the accounts of these organizations. If this sleaze can afflict these well known and highly respected organizations, the happenings in the lesser known ones can only be open to conjecture.

As the Federal Government has secured another $225 million World Bank credit to intensify the fight against HIV/AIDS, let the money be judiciously utilized. It should not be allowed to go the way of other mismanaged donor funds. Apart from encouraging donor-fatigue, the unwholesome application of these funds to other uses will exacerbate the burden of the diseases they are meant to contain. The new fund is dedicated towards achieving certain aspects of the 2015 Millennium Development Goals (MDGs). Let it be used for the stated objective". l think Africa needs a genuine recolonization because our mind is full of wickedness.

The Game played On US by Pakistan Government.

l have read several articles and l have listened to a couple of  news about the death of Osama Bin Laden, and how the CIA could manage to tracked him down and killed Bin Laden. But what l don't understand is the position of the Pakistan government.

Why is it that their investigation appears more focused on how the CIA was able to tract down and killed Osama Bin Laden, in his multimillion mansion in Abbottabad. Which was built indirectly by the Pakistan Government, through the millions of Dollars aid from the US Government to the Pakistan’s government where he was living for many years.

Well to my own point of view, if we should investigate how Bin Laden manage to life in Pakistan's for many years without being dictated. One will found out that the Pakistan Authorities knew every information about the where about of Bin Laden. They refused to revel the information to the CIA, because the Government was hidden Bin Laden in Pakistan in order to extort money from the US government. One have to understand that to the Pakistan’s government, Bin Laden is like their another source of national income.

That was why they had to protect Bin Laden and also to use him to pretend and also to extort money from the US government as if they were fighting the al-Qaida and other militants, so that the  America Government will continue pumping money to them thinking that the Pakistan Government were using the money to fight Taliban. If not why should their investigation only focuses on how Bin laden was tracked and killed.

You know $800m aid is not a small money for a country to lose, that is why they have to protect and even finance Bin Laden. Although USA government think that with the pumping of aid to the Pakistan’s government, it will be easy to control and get every information that will lead to the capture of Bin Laden. Without knowing that the people you are helping happened to be fighting against you.

Our people says that no matter how hard you tried to wash a pig, a pig will always remain a pig, because it was meant to live in a dirty environment. No matter how hard you try to please a terrorist that genes still remain on them.

Fuel subsidy removal, a political plot by the invisible hands from the Northern and the South West of Nigeria.

Subsidy removal a political plot by the invisible hands from the North and the South west by Obasanjo groups to prove that the South South and the South East are not capable to rule the Country. If not why didn't Yar'Adua and Obasanjo removed the fuel subsidy during their regime?.

Jonathan is a disgrace to the South South and the South East. if his government fall, the Niger delta militant should not blame any body. you can not remove the fuel subsidy without first put all the refineries in a good condition. To tell you how our so-called leader s reason, could you imagine in a Country where the minimum wage is 18,000 and the government want people to buy a liter of fuel at the price of 140-200 Niara per a liter.

Okonjo Iwuala is trying to compare Nigeria with the Western World where the price of the fuel is 1 euro or 1.50 euro per a liter which is 200- 300 Niara. Without knowing that the minimum wages in some of these Countries is 1000 dollars or more. Without asking how much is the minimum wages in those Countries? And how easily is to secure a job in those Country? That is to tell you that our government do not care about her citizens.

I have read on the news paper about how president Good-luck Jonathan had justified his action on the subsidy removal by saying that “  that it was dangerous for the government to continue to use one third of its budget to support fuel subsidy. It said the country was sitting on a time bomb with its N5 trillion debt profile, using N500 billion to service the debt and borrowing its entire capital budget, warning the economy would not only collapse but companies would be forced to cut workforce”.

Theses is an ill explanation,. The same president budgeted 1 billion Niara for his food allowance, I wonder what he will be eating. And to pay for fuel subsidy is a problem to him. We need to say no to all these, enough is enough. Take a look at the Countries with the highest debt. The United State of American debt stood at 13.98 trillion dollars. The United Kingdom's debt stood at 8.981 trillion dollars. German debt stood at 4.713 trillion. And many more. And our so-called president is claiming that our debt stood at 5 trillion Niara not dollars. And these is the reason to inflict pains to Nigerian. ill explanation.

If I should advice Mr president that if he want to remove the so-called fuel subsidy, he should first put all the refineries in a good condition to meet the local demand, and secondly put our transportation system in a good condition then if he bring the issue of fuel subsidy removal no one will care about that or no body will protest against his action. How could our so-called government are tormenting his people, and inflicting pains by exporting fuel and importing them back. This is an evidence of lack of competent and corruption.

One of my professor in European History said that, the difference between Africa and the Western World is that the West often buy their row material very cheap, refined it or use it to produce something and sell it back to them in a higher price. And these is what is happening in Nigeria, because we produce crude oil, we export them to refine it and import it back.

Is this not crazy and a lack of leadership and an act of corruption. The above mentioned Countries borrowed to put things in order and that made these Countries to be attractive and made every body want to live or travel to these over mentioned Countries. So it will not be a bad idea if our so-called leaders often borrowed money to fix the Country. But our problem is when they borrow money, that money remains in their private pocket without using the money to do the things that they borrowed if for.  enough is enough.
